On our last day in CA...

The kids had never been to the beach, and it has been years since either Gabe or I had been. To make the last day memorable, we found the pier in Oceanside, CA. It is said to be the longest pier on the West coast. It was so awesome! The day was perfect! We walked to the end of the pier and took a couple of pics and then enjoyed the day at the beach. Wonderful memories!

I could not believe how far we walked to get to the end of the pier. It was beautiful. Then to look back and see the city skyline from the ocean... Just wonderful!

The kids liked this pellican, it reminded them of the Finding Nemo movie, but Isaac would not get close to it, and Jacob and Emma were pretty nervous to be too close. You could tell we were tourists.. no one else was impressed with the big bird!

I loved that the beach was not too crowded.

Isaac at first, hated the sand! It was too funny. Plus he wouldn't touch the water! But after a few minutes he warmed up to it, and ended up having lots of fun!

Playing in the sand...

Searching for sea shells! Emma was so excited to be able to finally see sea shells at the real beach:-)

Jacob was the only one who really enjoyed playing in the water and letting the waves knock him down.

We had to tell him to get out, he was so cold, he was shivering!

There was even a playground at the beach, once Isaac had enough of the beach, he ran over to the playground!

At the end of the day we found an OTB and had yummy food, while we waited for it, Jacob tried out his photogrophy skills. I think he found a handsome couple to pose for him! ;-)
